The Select runs protocols that are prebuilt; they're called biosurveys. Biosurveys use library items called VSIs (Virtual Stimulus Items) to stimulate the body and the Select records the body's response. A biosurvey is a pre-built sequence of stimulus and response involving a few, or a lot of VSIs. The purpose of a biosurvey is to gather information from/about your client. That information is then included in your decision making on behalf of your client.
The Select is versatile because it can run any biosurvey you put in it. This means the Select can go through any scanning sequence and it can include any product or any non-product VSI that is included in the biosurvey.
